A gift to a society confused by the changing values of a pandemic. A talisman that bundles SIGN of future circulation.
Due to the pandemic of the new coronavirus that started in 2020,
The unfamiliar word NEW NORMAL was born.
This year, we were forced to change our social customs and values, and we were thinking about the future society, stopping and thinking about our lives from now on.
At the invitation of NTT Docomo, an exhibition was held at GINZA SIX 6F Ginza Tsutaya Bookstore GINZA ATRIUM, in which five groups of creators and companies expressed their SIGNS.
_SIGN.
In other words, it symbolizes the changes in lifestyle that will become apparent in the future.
Ayako Suwa exhibited her Talisman, which she has been making since she established her atelier in the forest.

Talisman in the forest is delivered from the deep forest of Doshi Village, Yamanashi Prefecture, where my atelier is located.
It is a talisman, an amulet, and an invitation to the forest.
In April 2020, during the declaration of a state of emergency due to the new coronavirus, the forest talisman was born.
When I was full of unpredictable anxiety due to lack of alcohol and masks,
I started making it with the desire to deliver the spirit of the forest to my friends who are staying at home in Tokyo.
The branches and leaves of coniferous trees contain plenty of phytoncides emitted by the trees.
When a tree that cannot move is injured,
It is a component emitted to protect itself from harmful microorganisms and insects,
For us humans, it has the effect of sterilizing, purifying, relaxing, and increasing immunity.
We will deliver a small forest that collects that beautiful energy as a talisman.
The talisman uses 40 to 50-year-old cedar and cypress branches and leaves that are thinned from this forest.
Forests are thinned to maintain a diverse ecosystem,
The trunk part is used for lumber and firewood as a biomass energy source.
The foliage has so far been discarded.
I found such branches and leaves in the forest and was taken aback by their beauty.
Please hang it in the place where you spend every day.
It will gradually dry, but please enjoy the beautiful change.
Once the talisman is dry, take it with you to the forest.
We will guide you to an experience that will enter the forest and become a part of nature.
After the talisman has finished its role, burn it in the bonfire and return it to the forest.
It becomes soil, becomes water, becomes trees, becomes a forest, and will surely return to us again.
This is a cyclical experience that connects city dwellers with nature.
